As homeschooling families, we often need each other if only for a little boost of encouragement. Because of this, we are offering Home School Encouragement Evenings — once a month (typically) on the 4th Tuesday at 7 pm. The structure of evenings will accommodate everyone: from those who are just curious about home education to those who have made the plunge to those who are almost at the end of their journey. Each event will have a “Homeschooling 101,” the meeting topic of the month, a question & answer session, and some socializing!
Here are the dates and meeting topics for the next few Home School Encouragement Evenings:
April 23rd: Planning for Summer; Getting children to help at home
May 28th: High School Transcripts
July 23rd: Choosing Curriculum; Multi-level teaching; learning styles; Time-management for homeschool moms
August 27th: Learning centers/work approaches; organizing your home for a lifestyle of learning
September 24th: Character training, Motivating middle schoolers, homeschooling with little ones
October 22nd: Curriculum Share & Swap
November 26th: Homeschooling Holidays
